James Heal celebrates 150th anniversary
Yorkshire-based textile quality control solutions brand James Heal is celebrating its 150th anniversary.
Established in 1872, the company specialises in the design, engineering and manufacture of quality testing instruments and test materials, mainly for the textiles industry. The company exports around 80% of its products and provides calibration services worldwide.
To celebrate this significant milestone, a celebratory event is being held in July with guests invited from across the globe.
Over the years the company has been involved in the design and production of ground-breaking instruments that have set industry standards, such as the Martindale Abrasion and Pilling Tester, originally developed with Dr. Martindale and WIRA in the 1940s.
Now part of a wider group of companies PPT Group, James Heal continues to innovate with two brand-new testing products for performance wear and technical textiles launched recently, the AirPro Air Permeability Tester and HydroView Hydrostatic Head Tester.
Neil Pryke, Innovation Director said: ‘We’re delighted to have reached this fantastic milestone. James Heal has a rich history of innovation and service to the textile industry, and we are very proud of our continued success, achieved through the dedication and hard work of the entire team.’
