SCI Textiles scoop top industry award

ASBCI member SCI Textiles is celebrating its success at the LCN Awards yesterday evening.  SCI Textiles were awarded for Best Innovation in the Laundry Sector, fighting off fierce competition from many other entrants, including Laundrapp.

Recognising achievements from the industry, this year’s awards were the highest attended and the most competitive, with nominees from all over the country.

SCI Textiles have been in the textile restoration business for over three years and innovation has always been at the centre of their core proposition. They have also recently entered the garment rectification market, supporting fashion retailers and manufacturers, with issues such as mould removal.

Incidents of fire or flood can be long and drawn out and as viewers, scenes of people living in alternative accommodation for many months are witnessed by us, seeing the emotions of those affected, wanting to return to their own home with their own possessions.

Having a speedy process and the latest, innovative technology at SCI’s finger tips, helps them return to their own homes that little bit sooner.

SCI offers a pick-up return service.  All items are counted whilst being placed into a heavy gauge polyethene bag and any damage will be noted by the operative.  The bag will then be sealed and then transported to the state of the art 10,000 sq ft validation and storage facility in Rugeley, Staffordshire.

Chris Dale, Managing Director of SCI Textiles said:

“SCI Textiles is truly delighted with this award and it comes following an enormous amount of dedication from the whole team, who have embraced the innovative process we have put in place and the technological developments that support it.

There is such an emphasis on restoration as opposed to waste and we are proud to be able to offer a service that not only satisfies our partners but also delights their customers.”

The initial pilot scheme client had a textile restoration approval rate of less than 47%. Within 3 months of the pilot scheme commencing, the validation reporting had turned the restoration approval rate to 73%. An overall increase in approvals of 26% - SCI Textiles has recently celebrated validating its one millionth piece in just under three years!

This has resulted in an increase in pieces processed by SCI of 360% over the last twelve months, making SCI the No.1 in the U.K.
