Digital Futures - Industry 5.0 The Future of Textiles and Manufacturing Event

The University of Manchester’s Digital Futures Platform, which brings together researchers across disciplines to solve real world challenges, is hosting an event exploring technological developments in the fashion and textiles industry. The Future of Textiles and Manufacturing to be held on 15th November

This will be a large industry-facing event designed to broker new connections and collaborations and find out more about external stakeholders’ ‘problems’ in this area, which UoM researchers can help to solve.

Industry 5.0 focuses on combining human creativity and craftsmanship with the speed, productivity, and consistency of robots. The event will be led by the Industry 5.0 theme lead, Prof. Charlie Wang and will explore the various innovative technologies in the textile and fashion industry. We will have talks from various speakers from the university and a panel with industry experts. The event will also feature demonstrations live tailoring body scanning technology and a live VR demonstration from the VR@Manchester innovation club.
