ASBCI has secured a technical visit for its members to Johnson Cleaners Technical Centre in Rugby.

This will take place on the 28th March 2024, with sessions both in the morning and afternoon. Sessions will last up to 2.5 hours. See below for full details and to register.

The morning session will start at 10am

The afternoon session will start at 1pm

Who is it for?  The great thing about this event is that whether previous attendees are recent graduates or whether they’ve been in the business for 10+ years, they usually come away wowed and amazed by what they experience on the day!  And remember that the day is FREE for ASBCI members.

What you will learn...  You will get an insight into the dry-cleaning industry from the best-known dry cleaner in the U.K.  You get an understanding of the industry history and get to hear about the latest technologies, as well as seeing how their specialist centre operates.

What the visit will include:

  • Understanding Johnson Cleaners approach to testing and identifying why things go wrong.
  • Seeing Wedding dress cleaning and preservation.
  • Seeing how UV light can assist stains being detected that are invisible to the human eye both pre and post clean.
  • The Fabric Technology Centre.
  • Dry cleaning, including Sustainable GreenEarth Dry-cleaning.
  • Wet Cleaning.
  • Suede and Leather/ Ugg boot cleaning.
  • Duvet Cleaning.

Places are limited (8 per session max). Parking is very limited, but the facility is a five-minute walk from the Rugby Train Station. The visit is being hosted by the ASBCI Vice Chair Garry Knox, who is also the Sustainability Director for GreenEarth Cleaning.
