The Textile Institute announces death of Rebecca Price

The Textile Institute announced the death of long-standing staff member, executive director Rebecca Price, in early January.

In its statement, the TI said: ‘Rebecca sadly died 2 January 2024 at Salford Royal Hospital, Salford, with her fiancé by her side. Rebecca had been diagnosed with cancer and she fought a short but very brave battle. Her death was sudden and unexpected although she faced many health challenges.

‘Rebecca has been part of the fabric of The Textile Institute since 2000. She has been such an important member of the team at TTIHQ for so many years and will be dearly missed by the staff and many around the world.

Rebecca was known to many TI members. She worked with the Professional Qualification and Publication Committees and visited Textile Institute sections around the world as well as attending Textile Institute World Conferences (TIWC). Meeting TI members was a highlight of her role.

‘The World President, Chair, Council and staff of The Textile Institute would like you to join them in mourning the passing of Rebecca, our dear friend, colleague and companion. We will all miss her more than words can express.’

The ASBCI would like to extend our condolences to Rebecca’s family and colleagues and friends at The Textile Institute.
