The Lycra Company launches Fitsense denim technology

The Lycra Company has launched FitSense denim technology that aims to provide a unique fit solution to consumers of all body types and shapes.

Lycra Fitsense features a shaping effect that delivers targeted support to the common trouble spots that can impact garment fit. Designers will be able choose where to shape, support and lift, delivering a customisable fit solution to consumers and potentially helping to reduce returns due to poor fit.

Ebru Ozaydin, global strategic marketing director for denim, wovens, and ready-to-wear., said: ‘Targeted support is engineered into stretch jeans using our technology, new fabric construction, and precision garment making. Our solution is discreet and invisible, and jeans retain the authentic denim look and feel consumers love.’

The Lycra Company launched Fitsense at Kingpins Amsterdam in April. The event also showcased Lycra’s partnership with Qore, maker of Qira, to enable the world’s first large-scale commercial production of renewable elastane. Qira is a key ingredient in Lycra fibre, and the link up will see Qira made from renewable dent corn that will be used to make bio-derived Lycra at scale.
