The Lycra Company appoints new CEO

Former Hatteras Yachts CEO Gary Smith has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of The Lycra Company. He places acting CEO Dean Williams, who will continue in his role as Lycra’s chief financial officer and assist with the transition.

Gary has 25 years of experience in the consumer products industry, including a stint as CEO of Polartec, where he spearheaded transformation efforts. He has also previously served as president of the Outdoor Group at The Timberland Company. In his new role, he will be responsible for The Lycra Company’s global organisation, reporting to the board of directors.

‘Gary is a proven CEO with deep brand experience and knowledge of our industry, along with a long history of successfully growing companies and creating shareholder value,’ said Craig Rogerson, executive chairman of The Lycra Company. ‘We are confident that his leadership will help us accelerate our long-term growth plans.’
