Sustainable streetwear brand Gbadebo partners with CircKit

Sustainable fashion brand Gbadebo has joined forces with circular design platform CircKit to integrate CircKit’s Digital Product Passport (DPP) technology into its newest upcycled collection, allowing customers to explore each garment’s environmental impact and production journey by scanning a QR code on the label.

Part of the EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), DPPs aim to increase transparency and traceability by providing clear information on a product’s origin, materials, environmental footprint, and end-of-life options. They are expected to become mandatory for the EU market by 2027.

CircKit’s platform integrates environmental impact, cost, and compliance insights at the design stage, helping transform circularity and compliance into positive impact and competitive advantage. It provides real-time data on 16 environmental factors, including carbon, water, and energy, for fabrics and materials, enabling brands to reverse-engineer impact.

‘Our mission is to make circularity and transparency feel more tangible for a brand’s audience,’ said founder and CEO Joe Darwen. ‘Working with Gbadebo has shown how DPP technology can empower independent, creative designers to communicate the story and impact of their pieces.’
