Former BIMA Chair, Peter Cussons Dies.

Peter was chair of the British Interlining Manufacturers Association, the organisation that preceded the ASBCI, from 1983 to 1985. He was director of Vilene, part of the Freudenberg Group.
Peter was a leading light in fusible interlinings. Alan Cannon Jones, former head of tailoring at London College of Fashion and past chair of the ASBCI student membership committee said: ‘I have many good memories of Peter. He gave me a lot of support early in my career, and saw that the Vilene team taught me all about the fusibles they were developing.’
BIMA became the ASBCI in 1992 following requests from manufacturers and retailers to join the association. Peter was heavily involved on the board and various committees, and although retiring several years ago, he kept up to date with the ASBCI’s activities.
Peter leaves his wife Barbara, sons Andrew and Ian, daughters-in-law Dawn and Alex, and six grandchildren. A sportsman and a gentleman, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
