Hohenstein Expands PPE testing

Testing and certification for suits and gloves that protect against chemicals and infectious agents are the latest additions to testing service provider Hohenstein’s portfolio of services. Both are classed as PPE and covered by Regulation (EU) 2016/425

Clothing that protects against infectious agents is used by workers in various industries such as at sewage plants, waste disposal, animal care, or the disposal of hazardous waste from hospitals where they are exposed to unknown infectious agents. The protective clothing is designed to protect wearers from the mediums in which the microorganisms are contained, such as liquids, aerosols or solid dust particles.

Chemical protective clothing is PPE that protects the wearer from chemicals in a gaseous, liquid or solid state. They are classified into six types with different protection levels from gas-tight to restricted liquid-tight.
