GreenEarth Cleaning’s annual Earth Day clothing drive

GreenEarth Cleaning reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability and community connection with its sixth annual Earth Day Clothing Drive.

Partnering with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Kansas City and KC Bier Co, this year’s event gathered over 1,000lbs of donated clothing, and raised more than US$600 to support youth mentorship.

Each year, GreenEarth provides its network of affiliate stores with turnkey tools, promotional materials, and guidance to host their own drives. What began as an annual event has evolved. Many affiliates now accept donations all year round, embedding circularity into their day-to-day operations.

According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the equivalent of one refuse truck of textiles is landfilled or burned every second, with less than 1% of clothing recycled into new garments. By encouraging reuse and donation, GreenEarth’s initiative promotes a more circular textile economy.
