GreenEarth Cleaning celebrates 25th anniversary
GreenEarth Cleaning emerged in 1999, introducing a paradigm shift in dry-cleaning with its environmentally non-toxic silicone-based alternative to the widely used perchloroethylene. Today, the company has a global network of 1,800 affiliates and a presence in more than 6,000 retail sites.
Odourless, colourless and non-allergenic, GreenEarth’s liquid silicon has no additional solvents and is chemically inert, which means it doesn’t react with fabrics or dyes. It’s low surface tension enables the solution to penetrate fabric easily and clean it gently – ideal for delicate fabrics like silk, lace, and cashmere, which can be damaged by conventional dry-cleaning. And at the end of the process, the solution degrades into sand, water and carbon.
Over the years, the business has collaborated closely with the retail sector, resulting in the inclusion of GreenEarth on the care labels of numerous brands in a reflection of the growing consumer interest in sustainable practices. The company has also been an active member of the ASBCI for many years, working together with the association to create a more sustainable industry.
