The ASBCI has invited some of the global apparel industries most successful and innovative professionals to help us navigate our way through the digital landscape and make sense of what is available, what works and how it should and can be implemented and applied to our businesses.

Here is a high level overview of each of the speakers:

Sofie Willmott, Senior Channels Analyst, Global Data joined data insights and market research firm GlobalData in 2017 to head up the Channels division of the Retail team which produce content focused on online retail and locations such as retail parks and town centres.  Prior to joining GlobalData Sofie worked at a number of retailers including John Lewis, ASOS and Mothercare within merchandising roles before settling at Topshop where she spent six years on the e-commerce team specialising in digital trade.

Andrew Nicholson, Founder & President, GUkU is a passionate advocate of the new discipline of digital psychology (Google it!), he completed his Masters in the subject, drawing on heuristic theories from the fields of behavioural economics and psychology, and applying them to contemporary digital marketing challenges in the events and hospitality arena (including London 2012!) to drive online behaviour change and increase sales.  

EMILY ROBERTSON-HOOD, Senior Consultant at Alvanon has led teams of Engineers, QA, Patternmakers, Graders, and Technical Developers in the fit, construction and global manufacturing of apparel products ranging from denim to down. Her connection with Alvanon, Inc. began with a comprehensive body scan project for Levi Strauss & Co., where over 50,000 scans were gathered from Levi stores across the United States.  Gaining a better understanding of what could be done with the data and how it relates to the Consumer across many different markets has been her focus since 2007.

Thorsten Traugott, Managing Director, Coloro - Thorsten’s full working life has been dedicated to the colour and trend industry. Having spent 16 years working for the exclusive distribution channel for Pantone in Europe, as well as for trend and colour publications, Thorsten joined global trend authority, WGSN, in 2007.

Kevin Townend, Non-Executive Director, Advanced Supply Chain - After graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Kevin joined the Ministry of Defence as a Science Officer based at the Royal Ordnance Factory in Leeds. Kevin brings specialised logistics/third party logistics knowledge to the Executive Boardroom. His objective is to bring innovation and experience to the executive whilst advising on senior management decisions.

Glenn Littlewood, Commercial Director, Coats Global Services has occupied various Senior Sales and Commercial roles within Technology Vendors in the Apparel Sector, and is now primarily focussed on working with International Retailers and Brands and their extended supply chain partners, to implement Industry Best Practice programmes for optimised collaboration, costing, product development and supply chain execution.

We are delighted to welcome two speakers from JD Williams, Angela Gaskell, who joined N Brown in 2016 as Head of Sourcing covering Sourcing, Ethical Compliance, Supplier Management and managing the Bangladesh Office. Her Key area of focus is to build trusted supplier partnerships that are right for a digital future.  She is joined by Laura Hampson who is Head of QA /Product Development across Apparel, Footwear & Home for NBrown’s power brands Simply Be, JD Williams and Jacamo

Mark Powell, PLM Solutions Expert, PTC has an extensive knowledge of the fashion industry after working as a pattern cutter and grader for over 20 years.  Mark joined  PTC in 2017 where he currently holds the position of PLM Solutions Expert. His position requires Mark to understand the full suite of solutions on offer to PTC’s Retail customers, enabling him to help them fully understand how these tools can offer a host of incredible benefits in this busy and demanding Retail environment.

Richard Barnes, CEO/Founder, Select Research Richard has helped to manage numerous large sizing surveys for Marks & Spencer (including the ‘Size 16 is Normal’ campaign), plus others for Pretty Polly and Next.  Since 1997, Select Research have been pioneering research into body shape using 3D scanning.

And last but not least, Michael T. Fralix, Ph.D. President and CEO, [TC]² has worked in a variety of capacities at [TC]² and has provided guidance to hundreds of companies around the world.  With 40 years of experience in manufacturing, research and development, and operations and corporate management, he leads [TC]²’s initiatives to develop next-generation supply chain technologies, and works with companies to implement currently available technologies and business processes.
