ASBCI Board Director, Chris Thierry has been involved in fashion and textiles for over 50 years.  He has a unique insight into the entire wool textile pipeline from farm to retail covering the fashion apparel, sportswear, carpet and interior sectors.  The Worshipful Company of Woolmen was once the guild that regulated the wool trade and is one of the oldest Livery Companies in the City of London.  Established in the 12th century, it is now a charitable organisation providing support for sheep farming, shearing and wool production and students for innovation and excellence in design for wool textiles.

As Master of The Worshipful Company of Woolmen, Chris attended and led the annual Sheep Drive - a tradition rooted in 8000 years of history which sees about 600 Freemen of The City of London exercise their right to drive sheep freely over London Bridge.

For many years, Britain's main source of trade was from wool and London Bridge was the only way into the trading centre of London.  Money was raised for good causes such as the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust and the the Company's own Charity and also provides a focus on the importance of the wool industry in the UK and London's trading history.
