For nearly two decades, Matalan has maintained a robust direct ethical sourcing policy and a lot of work goes into ensuring their supply chain is transparent and closely monitored. To support this commitment to operating in a sustainable and ethical way, they’re introducing 2 new roles into their Ethical Team, an Ethical Compliance Officer and a Supplier Compliance Assistant.

With a firm belief that long-term and established relationships create a better business and better products for their customers, the Ethical Compliance Officer will be responsible for implementing the Ethical Compliance Policy for all suppliers, factories and third parties, ensuring the delivery of key priorities and maintaining Matalan’s standards across the supply base.

Many of Matalan’s suppliers have worked with them since they first opened in 1985 and the Supplier Compliance Assistant will play a key role in maintaining these relationships and working with both suppliers and factories to make sure annual 3rd party audits are in place and assessing Ethical & Technical Corrective Action Plans.
