Events Committee Chairman: Julie King - University of Northampton
The Events Committee plan a variety of conferences, seminars and events for both corporate and student members. Surveys are conducted throughout the year to ascertain what the most pressing issues are within the industry. Using this information the Committee pools together its list of contacts to arrange high quality events featuring world-class speakers.
The Marketing & Membership Committee maintains regular and close contact with current and prospective corporate and student members to ensure ASBCI activities are relevant to industry needs. Action is taken through conferences and seminars to address key issues, distribution of useful information via publications and value added working groups.
Technical Committee Chairman: Ian Morris - IMM Associates Ltd
The Technical Committee manage the production of new technical booklets, and updating of existing ones. Written without commercial preference, many of these titles are now recommended texts within trade and academic organisations worldwide. Due for publication in 2015 will be a sizing and fit book - the first of its kind from the ABSCI.
Student Committee Chairman: Alan Cannon Jones - CAPITB Trust Ltd
The Student Committee has academic representatives from member colleges and universities, plus up to three student members. It meets four times per year to plan the student conference, seminars, and visits to companies. Other activities include organisation of the Student Design Award, Dissertation Prize, and the newly launched for 2014 Innovation Award, all of which are sponsored by well-known companies within the industry.
Executive Committee Chairman: Dr Alistair Knox, ASBCI Chairman
ASBCI Directors appoint volunteers to the Executive Committee that is responsible for the overall management of the Association. Most of the committee are nominated by premier member companies. The full committee generally meets twice per year to review activities and agree strategic direction.
